With over 13 years of experience in the fitness industry, encompassing everything from developing programs and exams, writing manuals to training his staff of personal trainers, Stephano established Kim Gym in 2006. Stephano’s clients range from NHL hockey players, high school and university athletes, women ‘of a certain age’ to seniors with physical limitations – a testament to his ability to cater training programs to each individual clients’ needs. Workouts with Stephano can best be characterized as gruelling and intense – but the results are both measurable and tangible. A graduate of the Human Kinetics program at the University of Windsor, Stephano is also a certified muay thai instructor and avid amateur boxer.

An accomplished athlete, Erik understands that health and fitness is a lifelong journey; one that enhances every aspect of his clients’ lives. A man of few words, workouts with Erik are stealthily intense, with an emphasis on proper form and technique. Erik’s graduate of the Health and Fitness program at Humber College. Erik’s clients range in age from 8-65, from athletes to new mothers.

Kwasi Nkansah, Trainer

Kwasi is a graduate of St. Francis Xavier and former pro football player with the Montreal Alouettes and B.C. Lions. Kwasi draws from his vast experience working with some of the best health and fitness practitioners in the country. In addition to various fitness certifications, Kwasi majored in Biopsychology at St. Francis Xavier University, with a minor in human kinetics; he is currently enrolled in a medical sciences program. Whether you’re an athlete looking for a strength and conditioning advantage or a busy mother who wants to lose weight, Kwasi is committed to ensuring clients stay fit and healthy.

Derek Doederlein, Trainer

Derek firmly believes that it is the work you perform today that determines your future; as such, he works closely with his clients to determine short, interim and long term goals. Derek’s approach to health and fitness is a holistic one encompassing exercise physiology, anatomy and nutrition so that his clients gain endurance, flexibility and strength – while lowering body fat percentage. A primary school teacher by education, Derek has his CPR and AED level C certifications, in addition to the CanFit Pro and TRX certificates.

Chris Johnson, Boxing Coach

As befits his "Showtime" moniker, Chris is equal parts entertainer and fierce trainer. He is as likely to serenade you during a workout, perform a stand-up routine – while commanding you to drop and pump out 30 push-ups. An Olympic bronze medalist in ’92, he is one of the most decorated boxers in Canadian history, having captured five national titles and multiple medals at the Commonwealth and Pan Am games, in addition to the World championships. Transitioning into coaching, he was the trainer of record for several National and World Championship boxers. For the weekend warriors who may not necessarily aspire to World championship belts, he is an energetic, intense and, always, entertaining trainer. Ever the Renaissance man, Chris has also appeared in several commercials, tv series and features, including “Cinderella Man”.

Certified by both the NCCP and CanFit Pro, LeRoy has amassed a wealth of knowledge in his 15 years as a personal trainer and certified pro and amateur boxing coach. LeRoy specializes in designing training programs that incorporate both boxing and strength training for fat blasting results. Whether in the ring or gym, LeRoy believes that success requires commitment and intensity. LeRoy’s clients have included professional and amateur athletes, Olympians and celebrities.

A successful and sponsored paddle sport athlete, Jess approaches her workouts with an infectious and enthusiastic energy. But don’t let her bubbly personality fool you , Jess has served with the Canadian Armed Forces. Jessica has elevated the concept of boot camp to a whole other level. Jessica is a certified strength and conditioning trainer with both CanFit Pro and the NSCA. Her clientele ranges from general fitness enthusiasts to nationally ranked paddlers.

My earliest memory of food is at 10 years old, being in the kitchen with my father, helping him make his famous chili. I had no idea then the impact that nutrition would have on my life in years to come.

My career started as a Paramedic. For over three years I cared for patients with illness and injury due to poor lifestyle choices and eating habits. I wanted to be able to help people before they needed to phone 911. I transitioned to the health and fitness world and became a personal trainer and nutrition coach. Clients results are 70% based on nutrition, you cannot out train a bad diet. My decision to become a holistic nutritionist came shortly after entering the world of fitness. Whole food and a healthy mind, body and soul is the best medicine. I provide nutrition coaching, consultations, personalized meal plans, group seminars and nutrition coaching courses.
